World TB Day is held on March 24 every year. This particular day commemorates when Dr Robert Koch announced that he had discovered the cause of tuberculosis in 1882.
In 1982 the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (IUATLD) proposed this day to be proclaimed the official World TB Day. World TB Day focuses on raising awareness about this disease.
