On the 5th of August we celebrate National Night Out sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch.
This event is organized in order to raise awareness about crime prevention, generate support and participation in anticrime programs and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnership.
National Night Out, 'America's Night Out Against Crime,' was introduced by the National Association of Town Watch in 1984. The program was the brainchild of NATW Executive Director Matt A. Peskin.
