Make a Difference Day takes place every year on the fourth Saturday in October. This annual event of doing good and helping others is organized by the USA WEEKEND Magazine.
Everyone is asked to participate in this day of help to each others. Projects can be as ambitious as collecting truckloads of clothing for the homeless, or as personal as spending an afternoon helping an elderly neighbor or relative. In 2005, 3 million people cared enough about their communities to volunteer on that day, accomplishing thousands of projects in hundreds of towns.
