International Housekeepers Week is a week long event that takes place every year on September.
This is a perfect time to recognize the job of the professionals in healthcare, hospitality, educational, state facilities and a a lot of other large facilities who provide their expertise to ensure a cleaner, safer and healthier environment.
In 1981, Oneita Dease requested that Doug Slingerland come up with an idea to recognize the “doers” in the housekeeping field. In July of 1996, the celebration became international and was changed to International Housekeepers Week.
