Every year on the third Thursday of November smokers across the nation take part in the Great American Smokeout by smoking less or quitting for the day. Smokers are challenged to stop smoking and information about many effective ways to quit smoking for good is spread.
This event dates from the early '70s when Lynn Smith announced the first observance and called it "D Day". Research shows that smokers are most successful in quitting when they have some support from the outside, such as the encouragement of friends and family members. The American Cancer Society enlists nonsmokers to "adopt" smokers, supporting them with advice and snacks.
The Odee Company has a full range of promotional products to spread the word among your employees and clients about this event and its importance for health.
