Banned Books Week takes place every year on the last week of September. The theme of this celebration is “Celebrating the Freedom to Read”.
Banned Books Week started in 1982. 2008 marks Banned Books Week's 27th anniversary. This celebration is organized by The American Library Association in order to celebrate the freedom to choose or express anyone’s opinion.
This is a perfect time to spread the word and encourage your clients and colleagues to celebrate their freedom to read. It's one of our most important democratic rights!
